Sunhoney Music

Sunhoney Edition currently publishes music for recorder, but will also be publishing arrangements for Strathspey & Reel societies in the near future.

We have two recorder collections available. Most of arrangements in these collections were originally aimed for music festival pieces and so timings for the tunes are given to help festival organisers select suitable pieces and create programme schedules. In addition we provide here suitable age classes for the pieces, although these are only guidelines since the level of ability may vary.

The Scottish Collection for Descant Recorder & Piano

The Scottish Collection for Descant is a collection of 50 tunes arranged by Elspeth Hardie, James Reith and Douglas Haston, beautifully illustrated by Elspeth Haston DA. The pieces range in the level of difficulty from pieces suitable for age 8 upwards. However, the arrangements are such that even the simplest tunes are hugely enjoyable for more advanced players. These tunes have enjoyed great success at the Aberdeen and North-East of Scotland Music Festival and have become favourites of the parents and families of the entrants. We provide a list of suggested class ages for the tunes and approximate timings to help those to are organising the recorder section of a music festival. It should be remembered that these are guidelines only and that the class age will be dependent on the local standard.

Piano Score and Descant Recorder Part: 9.95 + 2.95 P&P
